THE DEVELOPMENT OF INVESTMENT AND INNOVATION ACTIVITY OF ENERGY SECTOR ENTERPRISES OF DNIEPER ECONOMIC AREA
The problems of energy efficiency, which are sufficiently acute to humanity in the XXI century, are hyper-relevant for our state. Thus, the consumption of Ukraine is about 250 mln. tons of fuel per year, but it can provide only 52 percent of this volume, importing about 75% of gas, 85% of crude oil and petroleum products, 19% of coal. At the same time the energy intensity of gross domestic product is more than three times higher than the global average rate. The aim of the article is to define the main priorities of the development of investment and innovation activity of enterprises in the energy sector on the example of Prydniprovs’k economic region. General scientific and specific methods have been used for research of processes and phenomena in their interconnection and development. In particular, conclusions and proposals have been substantiated with the help of monographic, historical, factor, sociological and empirical methods. Thermal energy of Ukraine is in a difficult financial situation, but together with the nuclear power industry it is the flagship of the economy, because there is no future without the successful operation of thermal power and the introduction of innovative and investment projects. It has been proved that innovation and investment modernization of the power industry can be carried out as part of a large-scale national project of modernization of the energy sector, which should be developed and implemented on the basis of ecological and economic concept of modernization of electric power. Furthermore, such a project must be accompanied by at least two support projects also on a national scale: the project of modernization of the electricity distribution industry; project of realization of the potential energy savings. The process of developing a national project for the modernization of energy companies must take place within the framework of cooperation of three subjects: energy generating companies, the national dispatch center and the state – as strategist of the development of the country’s power generating facilities (for example, Fuel and Energy Ministry), and as a regulator of energy consumption (National Energy Regulatory Commission). The practical significance of the study is the guidelines to improve the process of innovation and investment activities of the energy sector of Prydniprovs’k economic region.
